  Well there is always going to be lower income individuals that are going to be looking for new jobs, but most of those types of positions do not require a letter of recommendation, or even a resume for that matter. But like I mentioned earlier, it is more than just the fresh out of college demographic that are seeking new employment. There have been a lot of budget cuts this past year because the economy is tanking, thus creating lay-offs and worst of all, firings.
  This demographic would be those in their mid 30's to 60's.
  
  That being said, a lot of people are now flooding sites like career builder and monster. Those would be great place to advertise, but unfortunately I don't believe that they will allow these types of ads on their sites. But there are other careers sites that will. One being this one:

  You need to advertise places like this site where you know these individuals in these demographics will be looking.

  I would really see anyone who is graduating, in a transitional job searching process, learning in school, or just wanting to make a resume for future use.
  I would also see this as an added bonus for professors, bosses, friends, and anyone else an applicant might call upon to make a letter of reference.
  This would be a good tool to have for those projects.
  However, you never really know who might benefit from a project such as this one, the best strategy would be to just get it out there.
  Although, there are some pretty good groups that could be targeted with a project such as this one. If you could somehow get a hold of some university email lists you could really do some damage in marketing this idea.

  One major issue is that some organizations want recommenders to sign across the seal of an envelope, and/or want recommendation letters signed in ink (e.g., many government organizations).

  During sixteen years in the corporate world for seven employers, I have never been asked for a letter of recommendation. All recommendation requests have been for name & phone.
  
  Added value to resumes sounds interesting if there is added value beyond simple storage. I store my resumes on my home computer, so I would be looking for a compelling reason to use the service. I'm guessing that you are already on top of this issue!

  I had to get letters of recommendation when I was applying for college and I will probably need to get some when I am looking for a job. I haven't needed any so far in getting a job internship. I think when I applied for some scholarships I also had to get one.

  As far as being asked to give a letter of recommendation (from someone I know) to an employer of a job that I am applying for, I am asked to get those quite a bit. But as for being someone that is writing a letter of recommendation for someone else that I know, I am afraid I haven't gotten to that point in my life where I have mentored enough people to be asked to write a recommendation for.
  I understand that might sound confusing, but so does your description. After going to your site, I still can't figure out if this service is to help you out by staying organized so that when you are applying for a new job, you can use one of your older letters of recommendation for it.
  Or is it for people who have written letters of recommendation for other people and are tired of writing them, so with your service they can use a template to send out to the people they are writing a letter of recommendation for?
  
  I would think the more logical one would be the first one I described. If that is the case, maybe making it a little clearer would help. But aside from all of th…moreat, I think that it is a pretty good idea. Especially when you consider the job market these days and lay-offs, a lot of people are looking for new jobs. And when you are looking for new jobs, you need letters of recommendation.

  More often than not this is a common practice among job interviews. The best idea you could do for something like this is to have some type of digital service in which a user could load up their letters of recommendation and have in all in one place.
  However there are some different options available as you think about this idea. For one, will be what you can offer consumer in the way of resume templates and creator programs.

  You might want to consider setting up interfaces for companies that can enable recommenders to log on to the organization's website and submit the letter, along with something to verify the identity of the sender. Many graduate schools do this, but a lot of them do not. This could be a big target for you.

  You say that you plan to verify the identification of the recommending party, do you plan to verify the recommendation itself? While this may be annoying for the person writing the letter, it may add value to the service added. You may also want to make the letter writer be able to directly upload the letter them self. Just have a printable instruction sheet with the students ID and your website name.

  Thats a great idea, but I already have secure management of my resume on my hard drive. I have a folder that includes all of that information. That doesn't mean that your services aren't specific, but it does mean that you will need to convince people like me that your site can drastically improve both efficiency and generate opportunity for the consumer. One way would be to create a number of templates to use for each of your clients' documents. Also, perhaps a feature like the feedback and advice aspects of ideablob could benefit your venture. If you could have a community of people commenting and improving each other's resumes, this might entice others to join.
  
  Also, if you were the ones to send copies of your resume to the employers, that would be a great service that consumers might pay for. People are constantly asked for resumes, and you could send the resume to employers for a fee. Here are some links to the competition
